I remember the first scanner I ever had. It was a standalone UMAX Astra flatbed, and it was pretty bulky. Today, I have a combination printer/scanner/copier so I don’t have the peripheral clutter that I used to. One of the benefits of convergent technology is that devices become smaller yet more advanced. Modern scanners are faster, quieter, and higher quality. Now, they are smaller too.
The scanU concept scanner, designed by Ashish Chaudhary, is a pocket-sized tube with a roll out scanning bed layered with OLED screens containing light and photo sensors. The tube also contains a rechargeable power space and Flash based storage unit. Never has scanning been so quick, easy and portable.

There’s no denying it, math makes the world go round. Even if it was your worst subject in school, there’s no avoiding math in everyday life. Math is even seen inherently in time, so why not have a wall clock to exemplify that correlation? The Math Clock for Geeks is a wonderfully geeky timepiece that displays the numbers in complex mathematical equations. You don’t have to be a geek to appreciate this clock, but it helps. Odds are, if you’re viewing this site you’re probably a geek anyways.
The Math Clock is 12 inches in diameter and is fabricated from injection molded plastic. Even if you don’t know how to solve the equations on the clock, at least its easy enough to figure out what the answers are. If you’re curious about what each of the equations represents, check out a full listing here.

The pioneer of funny t-shirt websites is finally throwing in the… shirt.
In a biting statement to fans, friends, and foes, Sunshine Megatron expressed their distaste for shallow critics and announced that T-Shirt Hell is closing on February 10th, 2009.
From “What About All The Good Things Hitler Did” to the recently controversial “It’s not gay if you beat them up afterwards” (which is discussed in the letter), T-Shirt Hell provided a gritty and stabbing look at many hot button and sensitive topics.
It’s very unfortunate that the massive amount of ill concieved arguments and hate mail they recieve has left such a negative experience in place for the creator and staff of T-Shirt Hell that they are choosing to stop making their infamous shirts. Hell, I will just miss visiting the website for my own amusement to see what’s new.
You can read the letter right here: http://www.tshirthell.com/goodbye.php
A highly entertaining thought is that of the bulk of arguments, hate mail, and harassment of T-Shirt Hell and its staff comes from the very same people who buy the shirts because they can’t see anything but the face value of the WORDS printed on the shirt. The idiots who are so vehemently against them are one and the same with the idiots who buy them and don’t ‘get it’. “I will not explain the irony or the social commentary of the slogan because anyone with half a brain should be able to handle that on their own”, Sunshine writes.
